GLADYS MAY BAKER (nee NICHOLLS) On February 18, 2000 at the age of 79 years of Central Park Lodge (Poseidon). She leaves to mourn five children, Lloyd (Jeannie) of Morden, Brenda, Ward, Mona, Kent (Pat) of Winnipeg, nine grandchildren, two sisters-in-law, Thelma (Edmonton, Alta.), Diane (Thunder Bay) and numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her husband George; daughter Georgina; brother Jim; sister Myrtle; parents, Violet and Will, three brothers-in-law and three sisters-in-law. Gladys was born in Dauphin. She married George on April 3, 1942. She lived in the Hamiota, Brandon area and then moved to Winnipeg with her family in 1961. Her life was spent surrounded by family and friends and was happiest when they visited especially her grandchildren. Gladys and George both loved cooking and baking. They were in the food industry for over 15 years. Gladys and George lived at Columbus Courts for 19 years and moved to Central Park Lodge (Poseidon) in November of 1997. Gladys was very involved in the Columbus Courts Tenants Association doing whatever needed to be done. Both Gladys and George helped with Bingo, did crafts and attended most of the functions in the block and often helped with the refreshments. As she goes to join George she will now be at peace. In lieu of flowers, friends may make a donation to a charity of their choice in Gladys name. Cremation has taken place and interment will be in Brandon Hills at a later date. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 4 at Crescent Fort Rouge United Church, 525 Wardlaw Ave. (475-6011) at 1:00 p.m.
