Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJAMES RALSTON Born June 17, 1921 at Spouthead, Milton of Campsie, Scotland, Jim passed away February 19, 2000, at Swift Current, Sask., after a courageous battle with illness. Predeceased in 1998 by his wife Ruby, Jim is lovingly remembered by his daughters and their families, Merrylin (Ian) Moody, Lynda (John) Clymo, Richmond, B.C., Wendy (Grant) Darrow, Pennant, Sask.; five grandchildren, Michelle, Paul, Raymond, Barbra, Mathew, Lorene, Charles; and great-grandson Tristan. Jim immigrated to Carman, Man. in 1948, marrying Ruby Waddell of Sperling, Man. in 1950. He farmed there until 1968 when he commenced employment with Manitoba Pool Elevator Co. in Sperling. He subsequently managed elevators in Fredensthal 1970 - 1978, Cypress River 1978 - 1986, retiring to Glenboro and then to Brandon. In failing health, Jim was moved to Saskatchewan in December, 99, to be cared for by his daughter Wendy. Jim was one of a family of nine children in Scotland. He was predeceased by brothers, Mathew, John, George; sisters, Jessie Stark, Elizabeth Reid; brothers and sisters-in-law, Jim Stark, Alan Young, Alec Roberts, Janet Ralston. He is survived by brother William; sisters, Margaret Jarvie, Jean Young, Mary Roberts; brothers and sisters-in-law, Walter Jarvie, Dave Reid, Jessie, Jean and Betty Ralston. In Canada, he was predeceased by brothers and sisters-in-law, Lorraine, Bertha, Clarke Russell, Jean (Charlie) Fordyce, Muriel (Art) Fitz-Simon, Audrey (Harold) Stephens, Ralph (Sigrun) Russell, Marjorie McLennan, Jack Russell. He is survived by Art (Olive) Russell, Cliff (Betty) Russell, Gladys Russell, John McLennan. Also surviving are many treasured nieces and nephews. We would like to thank family and friends for their kindness and support, Dr. MacFarlane, all home care staff especially Carlene and Leah for their dedicated care of our parents over the years. Cremation has taken place and remains will be laid to rest at Sperling Cemetery. A memorial service to commemorate Jims life will take place at a later date.
