NATALIA MAMCZYN (MAMCHYN) On February 23, 2000, Natalia Mamczyn passed away at the age of 93 years after a brief illness. She leaves to mourn in Winnipeg her husband of 65 years, Roman; in Montreal, her brother Yaroslaw Kobylecky and his wife Valentina; in Toronto, her nephew Oleh Kobylecky, his wife Donna and their child Olexa and in Philadelphia, her niece Martha Kochanowski and family. Other relatives left behind include Christina Holowinsky, Allana Holowinsky-Kratzer, along with her husband Peter and their child Marika Holowinsky and her husband Ivan Todosijchuk, Sophie Watson and family and Vera Chrepatowsky and family. She will be especially missed by dear friends, Dr. Taras and Mrs. Emma Snihurowycz, as well as Ihor and Marusha Gawrachynsky and family. Many other friends and neighbours will also miss and remember Natalias kind heart and strong spirit. Natalia lived a long and full life. She was born in Borschziw, Ukraine and eventually came to Winnipeg with her husband in 1950 after having been displaced from their home and country during the Second World War and travelling through many parts of the world on their journey here. In Canada she taught Ukrainian courses, she was head of the Ukrainian Catholic League of Women at Christ the King Church in the 1960s and 1970s and was also a member of the St. Nicholas Parish for about the last 20 years. Prayers will be sung 4:00 p.m., Sunday, February 27 at Korban Funeral Chapel, 907 Main St. Divine Liturgy will be celebrated 10:00 a.m. Monday, February 28 at St. Nicholas Ukrainian Catholic Church, 737 Bannerman Ave. with a Basilian Father officiating. Interment to follow in Holy Family Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, it is requested that those considering a remembrance make a donation to the charity of their choice.
