JAMES BLACK On Thursday, February 26, 2000 at the St. Boniface Hospital, James Black, beloved husband of Marie died at the age of 87 years. Besides his wife, he is survived by sons, Jimmie (Mary), Allen (Ellen), Harold (Helen) and Douglas; grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sister Elizabeth (Freddie) and many nieces, nephews and cousins. James was a mechanic by trade and owned and operated several businesses, including service stations, tourist camps, and the Royal Visit Confectionery. In June of 1977 James retired from Winnipeg School Division #1. James loved to travel Canada, being at the cottage at Nutimik. He enjoyed having his family around. The family would like to thank the staff at St. Boniface Hospital for the care, compassion and everything that was done for Dad. Thank you also to the staff at Smittys on Henderson for your kindness and the way you always made Mom and Dad feel at home. Memorial service will be held on Thursday, March 2 at 2:00 p.m. at Klassen Funeral Chapel, 1897 Henderson Highway, with Rev. Jim. Hatherly officiating. Interment will have taken place in Brookside Cemetery. If friends desire, donations may be made in James memory to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, the Humane Society, or to a charity of your choice. Arrangements entrusted to Klassen Funeral Chapel, 338-0331.
