Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMARION MARGARET DENIKE Our beloved mother passed away peacefully on February 25, 2000 at the Convalescent Home of Winnipeg at the age of 88 years. She will be sadly missed by her family, sons, Thomas (Joyce) of Winnipeg, Stephen (Carol) of Vancouver Island; daughter Carla Paler (Gordon) of Vancouver Island and her dear sister Francey Raglan. She will be lovingly remembered by her grandchildren, Heather, Lyell, James, Neil, Rhodes, Noel and Mya as well as her great grandchildren, Shannon, Julia and Colin. Marion was predeceased by her husband Lyell Rhodes Denike and brother Fraser Milton. Mum was born on February 2, 1912 in the County of Lanark, Scotland. Her early years were spent in Ardersier near Inverness. She was seven years old when her family moved to Winnipeg settling in Norwood. Mum and Dad married in 1940 and seven years later moved their family to their new home at 58 Wildwood Park. Mother enjoyed fifty years in this very special community surrounded by good friends and wonderful neighbours. She spent many happy summers with her family at the "camp" at Ingolf, Ontario. After Dad passed away in 1961, mother worked at the Fort Garry Public Library. This gave her much joy and satisfaction. Theatre, ballet and literature were an important part of Mums life. She took many university courses becoming fluently bilingual in her late seventies. Mother was a staunch supporter of Amnesty International. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, March 1 at 1:30 p.m. in Fort Garry United Church, 800 Point Road with Rev. Dr. Gordon Taylor officiating. There will be a reception to follow at the church. The family would like to thank all the nurses and staff at the Convalescent Home for their kindness and compassion, with special thanks to Brenda for her loving care and thoughtfulness. If friends so desire, donations may be made to the charity of your choice. "And I will luve thee still, my dear, Till a the seas gang dry." THOMSON FUNERAL CHAPELS 783-7211
