JAKE ENNS It is with great sadness that we bid farewell to Jacob (Jake) Enns, beloved husband of Elizabeth (Beth), our dear father, grandfather and brother. Jake passed away peacefully in his sleep at home on Saturday morning, February 26, 2000. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife Beth; his children, Ronald, his wife Linda and their children, Darryl, his fiancee Jeanine, Scott and Bryan; Victor, his wife Linda and their children, Shannon, Marina and Jillian; Robert (Bobby) and his son Dustin; Karen, her husband Jim and their children, Tara, Jamie and Casey; David, his wife Carol and their children, Emily and Ellen; Daniel (Danny), his wife Christine and their children, Hayley, Laura, Erin and Danielle; also his brothers, Peter (Annie), John, Harry (Terri), all of Winnipeg and sisters-in-law, Emma of Winnipeg and Anne of Vancouver, B.C. He was predeceased by his father Abraham and mother Helen Konrad; sisters, Helen Wall, Mary Wall, Agathe Rempel and brothers, Abe and Nick. Jacob was born December 21, 1920, in Teigenhagen, Southern Ukraine. He immigrated to La Salle, Man., in 1924 with his family. He attended Prestwick School near La Salle and high school in Sanford, Man. On September 28, 1946, he married Elizabeth Rempel and began his business career in La Salle in trucking and custom harvesting. In 1950 he added a Shell Bulk Oil Dealership, and in 1955 his brother Harry joined him and they formed Enns Bros. Ltd. In 1956 they started a John Deere dealership in Sanford which they moved to Oak Bluff, Man., in 1961. Throughout this time he was always active in farming. He retired from active business in 1994. Today, Enns Bros. Ltd., is carried on by Jakes sons in Oak Bluff, Morris and Portage la Prairie. Jake was active in the Domain Mennonite Brethren Church as a Deacon, Sunday school superintendent and teacher until the church closed in 1980, after which he joined the Portage Ave. Mennonite Brethren Church, Winnipeg. He became an active member of the Gideons in 1982 until his passing. Jake was intense in many areas of his life but none more than his faith in God and his family. His many interests included fishing, hunting, swimming, snowmobiling and travelling. His travels always included a visit to his many nieces and nephews to maintain a strong father-like relationship with them. Viewing will be held Tuesday, February 29, 7:00 to 8:00 p.m., with a devotional at 7:15 p.m., at Klassen Funeral Chapel, 1897 Henderson Hwy. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, March 1, at 10:30 a.m., at Portage Ave. Mennonite Brethren Church, 1420 Portage Ave., with interment to follow at La Salle Mennonite Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Gideons International Canada, 501 Imperial Rd., North Guelph, Ont., N1H 7A2. "The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear?
