JOSEPH JUREK It is with deepest sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father and grandfather Joseph Jurek. With his wife Jean by his side, Joe passed away on February 27, 2000 at Health Sciences Centre. He leaves to mourn his wife of 31 years, Jean, his chosen daughter Zana and son-in-law Eric Anderson, his loving grandchildren, Alescha, Paige and MacKenzie, sister-in-law and husband Lu and Jim Park, sister-in-law Sheila Barker, brother-in-law and wife Bill and Ciss Barker of Ireland. >From a previous marriage son Bill and wife Cheryl, grandchildren, Laura and Robert of Victoria, B.C. and daughter Gloria Jones from Winnipeg. Joe served overseas during the Second World War with R.C.A.S.C. where he was instrumental in taking ice hockey to Scotland. During his long working career Joe operated the canteen at Building Products and was an owner/operator with Canada Messenger. In his retirement years he was an active member of Good Neighbours Senior Centre. His life was enriched by his many friends from the centre and the many he had met before. He had a special place in his heart for his three granddaughters and could always be counted on for chocolate to take home. We will be forever grateful to all of the staff on Ward GD2 at the Health Sciences Centre. Their professionalism, their kindness and loving care will always be remembered by the family. Should friends desire, a donation in Joes name may be made to Good Neighbours Senior Centre. Cremation has taken place and a Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, March 2 at 1:30 p.m. at Good Neighbours Senior Centre, 220 Helmsdale Ave.
