HOWARD BRADY HIGGINS Peacefully, on February 24, 2000 at the Health Sciences Centre, Howard Higgins passed away at the age of 84 years. He leaves to cherish his memory two sons, Allan, Dennis (Calgary) grandsons, Kevin (Thunder Bay), Kelly (Calgary) sisters, Agnes (Moosomin), Bernice (Sid) (Virden) sisters-in-law, Phyllis (Moosomin), Dolly (Fruitvale, B.C.) plus many nieces, nephews and friends. Howard was predeceased by his loving wife Olaug (1975) brothers, Harvey (1997), Lloyd (2000). Howard was born in Moosomin, Saskatchewan on October 8, 1915. He joined the Canadian Army in 1940, then served with the PPCLI for six years. Howard lived on Pritchard Ave. for 53 years and was a long time member of Weston Legion no. 2. He retired from Winnipeg School Division in 1980. Howard spent his retirement years growing and enjoying his flowers. Pallbearers will be Kevin, Kelly, Daryl, Darren, Stacy Higgins and Tom Smith. A funeral service will be held on Friday, March 3, at the Leatherdale Gardiner Funeral Chapel, 232 Kennedy Street at 2:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens, 4000 Portage Ave. The family would like to give special thanks to the doctors, nurses and staff of the Health Sciences Centre G A 4 wing.
