PEARL K. GAIDY It is with great sadness that we bid farewell to our beloved mother and grandmother, Pearl K. Gaidy. Pearl passed away peacefully on Sunday afternoon, February 27, 2000 with her family at her side at the Concordia Hospital. She will be lovingly remembered by her son Stan, daughter-in-law Eleanor, grandson Rick, granddaughter Sharon and special friend Glen. Pearl was predeceased by her husband Walter in 1963. Pearl was born December 29, 1915 and had recently celebrated her 84th birthday. She was born and raised in Winnipeg. She married Walter on October 26, 1935. She worked at the Hudsons Bay in housewares and at Christmas in the Tree Shop for many years. In 1966 she relocated to Toronto working at the Westbury Hotel for ten years and in June of 1979 moved back to Winnipeg to be with her family. She was a great mother and grandmother and her life centered around her family, always there to help out. Our family gatherings were a special time for her. She will be greatly missed. At Pearls request, cremation has taken place and there will be a memorial service held on Thursday, March 2 at 7:00 p.m. at Neil Bardal Inc., 984 Portage Ave., entrance on Aubrey St. If friends so desire, in lieu of flowers, donations in Pearls memory may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association, 102-310 Broadway, Winnipeg, MB R3C 0S6. Special thanks to the Emergency Services, Dr. H.B. Lee, nurses, Katrina and Jo-Ann, the staff at the Intensive Care Unit, Concordia Hospital and home care workers for their many years of service.
