PETER McLEOD After a courageous battle with cancer, on March 1, 2000, Peter McLeod passed away at the Riverview Health Centre, 20 days short of his 84th birthday. Left to mourn his passing is his loving wife Agathe; their children, Mary-Anne (Dennis) Defoort, David (Carol), Denis (Sandy), Mervyn, Arlene (Jayson) Mahadoo, Douglas, Paul, Mark (Maureen), Kathy (Nick) Troller; 12 grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Also left to cherish his memory are two brothers, Joe, Phillip (Mary) and two sisters, Nessie (Jimmy), McKernan, May Shaddock of Australia; as well as many nieces, nephews and friends. He was predeceased by a daughter Theresa-Lynn and a sister Alice Monkman. Peter was retired from the printing business for 20 years. His passion was golf, his pastime was Simulcast horse racing, often whistling when he won. Other interests were 10 pin bowling and gardening, especially his tomatoes! Prayers and viewing will be held at 9:00 a.m., followed immediately by a funeral service on Saturday, March 4 at 9:30 a.m. in the P. Coutu Funeral Chapel, 156 Marion St., with Rev. Dr. Patrick Morand presiding. Interment will follow at Glen Lawn Memorial Gardens, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Oncology Development Fund at Victoria General Hospital, 2340 Pembina Hwy., Winnipeg, MB R3T 2E8. The family extends heartfelt thanks to the staff at Riverview Health Centre, 3-E, especially "Currie", for all their love and care; also to Ann Anderson of the Oncology Dept. at V.G.H. P. COUTU & CO.
