GILBERT JOHN WELLS March 3, 1923 - February 28, 2000 Dad passed peacefully away on February 28, 2000, at the St.Boniface Hospital, with his family by his side. He was predeceased by his beloved wife Barbara (nee Hempsall) in November 1997 and his brothers, Frank and Ross and sister Eileen Lee; survived by his sister Sheila Anderson; his daughter Linda and her husband Ted Du Russel; son Greg and his wife Nellie; grandsons, Louis and Julian Crane and granddaughters, Tara and Janis Wells. Dad retired from Air Canada after enjoying a career of over 32 years. He was a "Mr. Fix-it" that seemed to manage any problem he encountered, always helping family and friends. Dad built a home on Percy Avenue and later a cabin at Barren Lake, where we enjoyed sailing in the boats that he built. His retirement project was another cabin at Sandy Hook, always building and creating. A service will be held on Saturday, March 4, at 1:00 p.m. in the Leatherdale Gardiner Funeral Chapel, 1858 Portage Ave. with Dads friend Major Leonard Millar officiating. Many thanks to Dr. Olweny and all the staff on the 6th floor at St. Boniface Hospital for their extra special care given our father. In lieu of flowers, a donation in Gilberts memory may be made to CancerCare Manitoba, 100 Olivia St. Winnipeg, Man., R3E 0V9, would be greatly appreciated. He will be sadly missed by so many friends and relatives but always held in our hearts. LEATHERDALE GARDINER 1858 Portage Avenue 949-4872
