GUDRUN IRENE HALLDORSON (STINSON)

Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryGUDRUN IRENE HALLDORSON (nee STINSON) With great sadness we announce the peaceful passing of Gudrun Irene Halldorson, at her home in Lundar, MB on February 29, 2000, at the age of 79 years. Irene was born on January 16, 1921 at Kenton, MB and moved to Lundar in 1923. She attended school in Lundar. On October 4, 1941 she married Leo Halldorson. Irene loved her community and was always a willing volunteer. She was an excellent mother and homemaker. She loved to cook and worked for various businesses in the Lundar area. She will always be remembered for making delicious Icelandic donuts. She was a charter member of the Lundar Legion Ladies Auxiliary No. 185, a member of the Lundar Personal Care Home Guild, a member of the Pauline Johnson Library Board, and a member of the Lundar Lutheran Church. Irene is survived by her husband of 58 years, Leo; her children, Murray (Lillian), Pat (Bob) Roberts, Donald (Joyce), Judy (Bob) Gleich, Darlene (Art) Sweetland. She was a loving amma to grandchildren, Diane, Kevin (Sheryl), Leanne (Ross), Laurel, Lindy, Donny (Emily), Pamela (Neil), Barry, Leona, Carla (Stewart) great-grandchildren, Nicole, Marlee, Kelsey, Jordhan, Jeffery, Jennifer, Travis, Tracie and Sydny; sisters, Gwen (Bill) Wynes, Evelyn (Glen) Metcalf, brother Alvin (Gertie) Stinson. Irene will also be fondly remembered by many in-laws, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. Irene was predeceased by a son Wayne; her parents, Bill and Helga Stinson; brother Pat and foster brother Bert. A celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, March 4 at 2:00 p.m. in the Lundar Lutheran Church with Pastor Bob Lewis officiating. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Lundar Legion Ladies Auxiliary No. 185. Our special thanks to Dr. Burnet, the home care co-ordinators, nurses and workers. Your exceptional care helped fulfil Irenes wish to remain at home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Pauline Johnson Library, Box 698, Lundar, MB R0C 1Y0, to the Lundar Lutheran Church Memorial Fund, or to a charity of ones choice.
