JOHN ALEXANDER McLEOD It is with sadness and sorrow that we announce the passing of our Dad, Grandfather and Great-grandfather, Jack McLeod on Wednesday, March 1, 2000 at the Victoria General Hospital, Winnipeg. Dad was born on January 26, 1915, in Rossburn, Man. to John and Katherine McLeod. He was predeceased by his wife Eva on September 23, 1996. Jack will be lovingly remembered by his daughter Barbara of Winnipeg; son Richard and wife Barbara of Winnipeg; daughter Cathy and husband Bryan of Beausejour and grandchildren, Ken (Kim) of Calgary, Michael (Gisele) of Winnipeg, Danny and Katherine of Winnipeg, Bradley and Kimberly of Beausejour; great-grandchildren, Amanda, Stephanie, Dan and Kevin. Jack grew up in the Rossburn area and eventually settled in Winnipeg with his family. He worked for many years for Jack Forgan Meats and completed his career with the Manitoba Hog Marketing Board as a buyer. He enjoyed this line of work best of all and made friends out of coworkers who were very dear to him, well into retirement. Always looking forward to Spring, Jack loved his garden. Summer months were spent at his cottage in Matlock where he always enjoyed morning coffee on the deck and where family and friends were always welcome. Dad was in good health and spirits virtually to the end and celebrated his 85th birthday with friends at home in January. He was also very busy over the past year, writing a manuscript of his experiences in the "early years," on his new computer. He was a gentle man who loved his family and friends and he will be missed by all. A funeral service will be held at Harrow United Church, 955 Mulvey Ave. on Monday, March 6, at 1:30 p.m.. A private interment will take place at a later date. The family would like to extend their sincere appreciation to Dr. Scott Young and the nursing staff on Unit 4, Victoria General Hospital for their care and compassion during our fathers illness. In lieu of flowers, if desired, a donation in memory of Jack may be made to Cancer Care Manitoba, 100 Olivia St., Winnipeg, Man., R3E 0V9. Well Miss You Dad! THOMSON FUNERAL CHAPELS 783-7211
