ALBERT JOSEPH (DES) DESJARLAIS After a brief and courageous battle, with his family at his bedside, Dad succumbed to cancer at the St. Boniface Hospital on Thursday, March 2, 2000 at the age of 69 years. Dad is now at peace with our Saviour. He leaves to mourn his passing, his loving wife of 46 years, Elizabeth Rose; children, Charlene (Gilles), Marcel, Harold (Anita), Janet, Albert (Sonia), and Celeste (Tom) nine grandchildren, Nathania, Danielle, Michael, Matthew, Richard, Nathan, Thomas, Nicholas, and Jordan. Also left to cherish his memory are his five brothers, Leonard (Dolly), Norvel (Rosalie), Rene (Linda), Lawrence (Marion), and Roy, sister Patricia (John) as well as numerous other relatives and friends. Dad was predeceased by his parents, Joseph and Clara; his brothers, Edward, Aylmer, and Leo, sister Marie; and grandson Daniel. Special thanks are extended to the doctors, nurses, and orderlies at the St. Boniface Hospital Palliative Care Unit for making our dads last day comfortable. Funeral services for Albert will be held at the Holy Cross Roman Catholic Church, 252 Dubuc St. in St. Boniface on Tuesday, March 7 at 10:30 a.m. Fr. Guy Lavallee, o.m.i. will celebrate the memorial mass. Inurnment will take place in the P.W. Lavack Columbarium in St. Boniface Cemetery on Archibald St. following the mass. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Alberts memory to the Canadian Cancer Society, 193 Sherbrook St., Winnipeg R3C 9Z9. LECLAIRE BROTHERS in care of arrangements; 775-2220.
