Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryGERALD PETER KOPER April 11, 1945 - March 2, 2000 After a courageous battle, and a good fight, Gerald was tired and returned home to God. Gerald is survived by his beloved wife and best friend Patti; beloved son and best friend Brandan; beloved mother Irene and stepson Jamie Mackie. He was predeceased by his father Johannes (Joe) on February 7, 1997 and brother David, November 23, 1967. Gerald was employed by CNR for 35 years. He loved the time spent with his son Brandan, time spent with archery and their work with cars. He was a very compassionate and loving person to all those who knew him. When he faced the end with courage and dignity he told us all how much he loved each one of us. Gerald will be greatly missed and lovingly remembered. He will always be in our thoughts and in our hearts we will meet again. Thanks to his friends for their love, help and support, to the staff emergency and reassessment unit at St. Boniface Hospital, who showed great compassion and gave such wonderful care. Pallbearers will be Brandan Koper, Sheldon Allard, Gerry Smoley, Barry Farrell, Ron Finch and Dennis Bechrakis. Funeral service will be held 10:00 a.m. Monday, March 6, at St. Thomas Anglican Church, 1567 William Avenue, with Reverend Kenn Garrity officiating. Interment Brookside Cemetery.
