Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJOHN MONCHAK Peacefully, on Friday, February 25, 2000 John Monchak passed away at the Fred Douglas Lodge at the age of 86 years. Our father was born on Sunday, February 8, 1914 to Mary and Gregory Monchak. He worked at various jobs until the mid 1940s when he went to work for Watsons Iron and Wire Works. In the early 1970s, dad suffered a stroke, which paralyzed his left arm. He retired at this time. He was a quiet and peaceful man. He liked to help others and was very friendly. When he moved to Fred Douglas Lodge in 1993, he was always by the elevator to greet the visitors to his floor. He never complained and would not say anything bad about anybody. When he was asked how he was feeling, or how things were, his favourite saying was "Everything is Okie-Dokie". Left to mourn his passing are son Dan (Coleen) and grandson Dave; daughter Diana (Dave) and grandchildren Ashleigh and Donny. As well as three brothers, Harry, Steve and Bill and sister Anne Potasnyk. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will take place on Monday, March 6, at 1:00 p.m. at Knysh Funeral Chapel, 1020 Main St., Rev. Deacon Walter Knysh officiating. A special thank you to the staff at the Fred Douglas Lodge. VICHNAYA PAMYAT KNYSH FUNERAL CHAPEL 582-0973
