LAURA COOK September 13, 1911 - March 1, 2000 Passed away peacefully on March 1, 2000 at the Concordia Hospital at the age of 88 years. Predeceased by her husband Frank in 1987; her parents; and brothers and sisters. She leaves to mourn her daughter Diana, son-in-law Robert Gale; grandchildren, Delmar and Angela Cook, Samantha and Donald Nenka, Cameron, Kevin, Gail and Stephen Gale (Amanda) great-grandchildren, Richard, Christopher and Felicia Cook, Robert and Katherine Gale, Brieanna Nenka; brother-in-law Albert Cook and sister-in-law Dorothy Brown. Laura was born in Strathclair and lived in Kippens Mill until she moved to Winnipeg with her husband and daughter in 1943. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Special thanks to the nurses and nurses aids of the 3rd floor at Concordia Hospital. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, March 6, at Grey St. United Church (corner of Grey & Sandhurst). Rev. Gordon Fulford officiating. A gathering of family and friends will follow at the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch #9 at 920 Nairn Ave. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba, 301-352 Donald St., Winnipeg, Man., R3B 2H8.
