MARJORIE PAULINE GIFFORD December 26, 1912 - March 1, 2000 Suddenly on Wednesday, March 1, 2000, at the Concordia Hospital, Marjorie Pauline Gifford passed away. Marjorie was born to Frank and Hattie Donley of Hinesburg, Vermont. At a young age, she moved with her family to Dapp, Alta. With the onset of the depression, the family moved by horse and wagon to Portage La Prairie. On April 29, 1933, she married Frederick Charles Gifford. During the war, she was left to raise three children for five years. She worked at Eatons for twenty-five years. She enjoyed making ceramics, knitting, painting, and was an avid bingo player and loved to travel. She belonged to Seniors Clubs in Selkirk and Elmwood. She was predeceased in 1988 by her husband Fred of 55 years; also four brothers, two sisters and one grandson. She will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by her two sons, Frederick Gifford (Bev) of Red Deer, Alta., Donald Gifford (Linda) of East Selkirk, Man.; one daughter Marjorie Smith (Stan) of Toronto, Ont.; 12 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren, one great-great-granddaughter also many relatives and friends. A viewing will be held on Monday, March 6, 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the Leatherdale Gardiner Funeral Chapel, 232 Kennedy St. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, March 7, at 1:00 p.m. also in the Chapel.
