SHARYN RAE BAILEY After a very courageous battle with cancer, on Monday, February 28, 2000, Sharyn Rae Bailey has joined her Saviour in heaven and walks tall without her crutches. Sharyn was predeceased by her father and by her brother Thomas in 1983. She leaves to mourn in her passing her mother Dorothy; brothers and sisters, Robert (Carmen), Susan (Richard), George (Lucette), Gordon and Dorothy (Charles) sister-in-law Darlene; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and many many friends. Sharyn was born on September 26, 1945 in Welland, Ontario. She loved people and life. There were never any unkind words from her lips. She was always smiling and had friendly conversation for anyone. Sharyn showed an inner strength beyond expectations with anything she did or challenges she met through her life. She was a wonderful companion and she found great pleasure in lifes simpler things such as singing or talking to people. Sharyn was an active member of the Lakeside Church and Womens AGLOW. She was also active with Cornerstone, Peoples First and enjoyed the activities and living at Husi Gim. Cremation has taken place. A celebration of Sharyns life will be held Tuesday, March 7, at 1:00 p.m. at the Lakeside Church in Gimli, with Pastor Abe Harder officiating. Interment to take place at a later date in the Gimli Community Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Sharyns name may be made to Heima Er Best Inc. (Husigim) or to the Cancer Foundation. Sharyns family would like to express our heartfelt thanks to the wonderful nurses and staff at Johnsons Memorial Hospital for their warm and caring work with Sharyn during her stays. A very special thank you to Dee Friesen and Steven Bell for their wonderful music and visit with Sharyn. I know she enjoyed it very much. A bug hug and thank you to the staff at Husi Gim, Cornerstone and Adult Day Care. You meant a great deal to Sharyn. Gilbert Funeral Home in care of arrangements.
