CLARANCE (CORKY) KNOX Surrounded by his loving family, Corky died peacefully at the Eriksdale Personal Care Home, on March 4, 2000. Corky was born on February 15, 1925, and spent all of his life in Eriksdale, Man. He joined the Royal Canadian Air Force after completing High School and was a lifelong supporter of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #140. A familiar face along Highway #6, Corky served his community through Knox and Smith Transfer until 1976. A friendly outgoing man Corky was highly regarded by family and friends. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him. Corky is survived by his wife of 50 years, Helga; sons, James (Donna) and Wes (Deb) daughter Meredith (Gina) special niece Lorna Olafson (Barry) granddaughters, Wendy (David) Jones and Theresa Knox; sister Margaret Smith; sister-in-law Thelma Johnson and Lil (Hazen) Jeffers; brother-in-law Ernie (Dorothy) Olafson; three great-grandchildren along with numerous nieces, nephews and many good friends. In accordance with Corkys wishes, cremation will take place and a memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 8, at the Eriksdale Recreational Centre with Student Minister Melanie Kauppila officiating. Service will conclude at the Hall and an interment will be held at a later date in the Eriksdale Municipal Cemetery. The Royal Canadian Legion Branch #140 members and all of his friends may consider themselves honorary pallbearers for Corky on that day. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Eriksdale Personal Care Home, Eriksdale, MB., R0C 0W0 or Manitoba Heart and Stroke Foundation, 301-352 Donald St., R3E 0V9.
