DORA MAZUR (nee CHOPEK) Peacefully on Saturday, March 4, 2000, at the Red River Place, our beloved wife, mother and grandmother passed away with her family at her side, at the age of 84 years. She was born in Winnipeg on May 12, 1915 to the late George and Anne Chopek. Later with her parents, she moved to Lockport. Here she met her husband Leslie, and were married on October 22, 1933. They farmed together in Kirkness and later in East Selkirk until retirement. She loved her garden, flowers, sewing, knitting and crocheting and her family gatherings. She is survived by her loving husband of 66 years, Leslie; her son Raymond (Joanne) two daughters, Pauline (Fred) and Bernice (Michael) daughter-in-law Hazel and brother John Chopek. She also leaves 15 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her son Walter, one granddaughter, one great-granddaughter, her brother Bill and her sister Mary. Cremation has taken place and a Service of Remembrance will be held on Wednesday, March 8 at 7:00 p.m. with Rev. Barb Janes officiating. The family would like to thank all the staff at the Red River Place and Dr. Lindenschmidt who provided such caring and compassionate care over the years.
