DOROTHY WALES Peacefully, with her family by her side, Dorothy passed away at the Grace General Hospital, on Friday, March 3, 2000, age 78 years, beloved wife of the late John Wales, who predeceased her in December of 1961. Dorothy was born in Winnipeg on October 30, 1921 to Mary and Helmer Jernberg. She resided in Winnipeg all her life until she married Jack and in their early married years, they had moved to Detroit, Michigan and had their children there. Upon Jacks death in 1961, mom came back to Winnipeg and settled in St. James. She taught high school for many years at John Taylor Collegiate. There, she developed many friendships while teaching over the years. Upon her retirement mom enjoyed visiting with friends and family, as well as taking trips across the line. Remaining to forever cherish Dorothys memory are her son Andy (Trent and Jenna) and their mother Brenda; daughter Sally McCulloch (Dave) and their children, (Cara, David and Michael) her sister Agnes Hamilton (Dave) niece Barbara (Jim) nephew Bill and his daughter Catherine; cousin Jessie Watt, as well as numerous friends. A Celebration of Dorothys Life will be held on Wednesday, March 8 at 2:00 p.m., in the Sturgeon Creek United Church, 207 Thompson Dr., with Rev. Debra Schweyer officiating. Our family would like to express a sincere thanks to Dr. G. Borrett and staff on 3 North at the Grace General Hospital for their kind and compassionate care; as well as to Dr. F. Renouf for his years of caring for mom. In lieu of flowers, as an expression of sympathy, memorial donations may be made in Dorothys memory to the Grace General Hospital Foundation, 300 Booth Dr., Winnipeg, Man., R3J 3M7.
