DOROTHY ANDERSON Peacefully on March 5, 2000 at Park Manor Personal Care Home, Dorothy Anderson passed away at the age of 83. Dorothy was born in Winkler, Man. on January 18, 1917, daughter of Emile and Edward Pelzer. She was predeceased by her parents; husband John Errol; son John Dale; brothers, Earnest and Herbert; sister Laura; granddaughter Kirsten; and grandson Glen. Dorothy is survived by Allan Anderson (Doreen) of Transcona; Ken Anderson (Caroll) of White Rock, B.C.; Rolande Anderson of White Rock, B.C.; and grandchildren, Brent, Sean, Joelle and Glens wife Michelle. Dorothys father was a Section Foreman with the CPR and, as a result of Eds many transfers, Dorothy lived in a number of Manitoba towns through her childhood, including Plum Coulee, Morden, Manitou, Rathwell and Westbourne. In one year, she attended three different schools. As a result, she placed great value on the comfort of staying at home and the simple things in life. Dorothy will always be remembered by her family as a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Her passion was her family. A spotless home, clean and well fed children were always her first priority. Many years of camping were enjoyed with husband Errol and the family. Many enjoyable hours were spent with her family over a simple game of cards around the kitchen table. She took great pride in her work as a retail demonstrator. Competitive and hard-working, every day included a tally of her sales success. Her best day always became the benchmark for improvement. After husband Errol passed away she began full-time work at St. Boniface General Hospital in Central Supply. Dorothy was a member of Faith Lutheran Church. Many visits from Pastor Larry Ulrich were a very important source of support, inspiration and comfort. The family would like to thank the staff at Park Manor their caring attention over the past three years. Special thanks to Tom McConnell for his special help and care for Dorothy and the family. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, March 8 at 10:00 a.m. at the Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave. Interment will follow in Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers if friends so desire, donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society, 120 Donald St., Winnipeg, MB, R3C 4G2.
