LENA NORMA BARKER Peacefully on March 4, 2000 Lena Barker passed away at the Grace Hospital at the age of 73 years. She leaves to mourn her passing and to cherish her memory her children, Lorne (Elise), Myrna (Darrell), Bruce, and Gary; her grandchildren, Rebecca, Chris, Shawn, Samantha, Derrick, and Kristin. She is also survived by her sisters, Thelma and Terry; along with numerous other relatives and friends. Lena was predeceased by her husband, Eldon (Pat) Barker; her parents, Malcolm and Marie; her stepfather Theodore Anderson; her brothers, Donald and James; and sisters, Mabel, Edith, and Ethel. Lena will be remembered as a selfless person who spent most of her life caring for others. She found pleasure crocheting and gardening and took a great deal of pride in her home. She was considered the "best cook in the world." A memorial service will be held Tuesday, March 7, at 12:30 p.m. from Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave. Interment will follow in the Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens.
