Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryFREDERICK JOHN LONGWORTHY FOSS Frederick Foss passed away peacefully on March 3, 2000 at the Victoria General Hospital. He is lovingly remembered by his wife Pat; his children, Brian, David, Cheryl (Brian) granddaughter Julie; sister Isabel and friends. Fred was a very active retiree playing tennis, ballroom dancing, canoeing, snorkelling, sun tanning and cruising. He will be sorely missed. Fred was born in Ottawa, received his early schooling in Horndean then Capriol and obtained a teachers certificate, and BA from Queens University. He was an educator for over 30 years, teaching in a residential school, the southernmost Indian Affairs school in Ontario and the most northerly one on the Peel River in the Yukon. Fred was a principal, inspector and superintendent of the in-school program in the Manitoba Region and introduced the first kindergarten and nursery classes in all the schools. He worked with Dr. P. Halimandaris to start the first "First Nation" Teacher Training Program at the Brandon University. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba, 301 - 352 Donald St., Winnipeg, MB R3C 1L8 or a charity of your choice. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 11 at 3:00 p.m. at Neil Bardal Inc., 984 Portage Ave., entrance at Aubrey Street. NEIL BARDAL INC. 949-2200
