GEORGE ROGER DESAUTELS Peacefully, on February 24, 2000, Goerge passed away at Eagle Ridge Hospital in Port Moody, BC. Left to cherish his memory are his wife Bonnie of Vancouver; his daughter Yvette (Gilles) of Lorette, MB and three children from a previous marriage, Bernard (Judy), Lloyd and Dianne (Derek) all of Vancouver. He also leaves his grandchildren, Corinne, Craig, Cameron, Sherrie, Charlene, Sandra, Debra of Vancouver and Rene and Lacey of Lorette. His brothers and sisters, Rene (Alma) Lorette, Albert (Rita) Winnipeg, Laurette (Leo) Winnipeg, MaryAnne (Jim) Belmont, Paul of Victoria, Fernand (Rose) Winnipeg and many great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. George was predeceased by his parents, Leandre and (Rose Gendron), an infant son Rene; numerous brothers, sisters and one grandchild. Gorge was born in Ste. Anne, MB on December 7, 1918. He was raised on the family farm, marreid Monica Slugett and moved to St. Vital. He took his family and moved to Vancouver as a young amn, where, he eventually met his second wife bonnie. Dad was self employed as a carpenter and worked hard all his life until illness forced retirement. He loved to play horseshoes, travel, especially to Hawaii and tell jokes as he had a great sense of humour. At Georges request, cremation has taken place. A small memorial service was held for immediate family and friends at his home in BC. A funeral will be held at the Notre Dame de Lorette Catholic Church in Lorette on Saturday, March 11 at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Fr. Maurice Jeanneau officiating. Interment will follow in Lorette Cemetery. Special thanks to Dr. K. Merth and the nurses on W2B and C2B at Eagle Ridge Hospital. Donations may be made to the Manitoba Lung Association, 629 McDermot in Dads memory.
