JAKE PENNER On Sunday, March 5, 2000 at the Bethesda Hospital in Steinbach, Jake Penner, beloved husband of Pauline of Blumenort, Man., passed away at the age of 76 years. Jake was well known in the area as the owner of Jakes Gravel in Blumenort for many years. Besides his loving wife of 49 years, Pauline, he leaves to mourn his passing one daughter, Myrna of Winnipeg; two sons, Orlando (Luanna) of Blumenort, Lorne (Carol) of Greenland; son-in-law Winston (Noreen) of Greenland, 19 grandchildren and their spouses, three great-grandchildren, as well as three brothers, John (Agnes), Waldon (Mildred), Abe (Carrie) six sisters, Ella Rosenthal, Adina Penner, Nellie Toews, Evelyn Fricke, Roslyn Friesen and Jessie Penner; one sister-in-law Annie Penner; one brother-in-law Albert Barkman, many relatives and countless friends. He was predeceased by his parents, Aron M. and Marie Penner; three daughters, Sheila and Karen in infancy and Marjorie in 1993, as well as one brother Stanley and two sisters, Lena and Annie. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 9, 2:00 p.m. at the Evangelical Mennonite Church in Blumenort with Pastors, Melvin Penner and Ed Johnson officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Viewing and a gathering of friends will be held at Loewen Funeral Chapel, No. 12 Hwy. South, Steinbach on March 8, 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. and at the church prior to the service. Arrangements entrusted to Loewen Funeral Chapel, Steinbach, 1-204-326-1351.
