Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryELIZABETH HELGA TOOMBS Peacefully on Sunday, March 5, 2000 at 9:00 p.m. in the Victoria Hospital with her cousin and close friend Carol Darragh at her side. Helga, beloved wife of the late Wensel Toombs was predeceased by her mother and father Asta and Albert Goodman, as well as her twin sister Nona; sister Bergthora and brother Benjamin. Helga was born October 18, 1907 in Winnipeg and later moved to Gimli with her family spending several years in that location where her father was a fish inspector on Lake Winnipeg. The family later moved to Winnipeg, where Helga was a proud employee with The T. Eaton Co. for several years. She will always be remembered as a caring, intelligent and precise lady, with an independent spirit, always interested in the world around her. Blessed with a keen sense of humour and compassion which helped her through some of the more trying times in life. Those left to mourn her are cousins in Winnipeg, Carol Darragh (Brian), Ingrid Popel (Rick, Braden and Eric), Charlene Shatsky (Morley, Ariel), Helgie Anderson, Conrad Anderson (Ida) also Chris Anderson and Andrew Anderson of Vancouver. Joan Anderson (Rick and family) of Phoenix, Arizona, Carol Ortinau (and family) of Chicago, Illinois. The family would like to gratefully express our thanks to the staff of the Medical Rehabilitation Unit, 3rd floor, Victoria Hospital, for their sincere dedication and compassion to Helga, especially during her final hour. Our special gratification to RNs Mary Buchanan, Eileen Coates and Chyanne Webb for their acts of kindness during Helgas two week stay in the hospital. Our appreciation to Charlene Shatsky B.N. for her professional advise and consideration in guiding us to secure the best possible care for Helga during her illness. Cremation has taken place.
