GOTTLIEB AMMETER Peacefully at the Ste. Anne Hospital on March 7, 2000, Gottlieb Ammeter, beloved husband of Evelyn Ammeter, and our dear father and grandfather, joined his Lord and Saviour. Gottlieb was born May 15, 1912 in Airigar, Georgia and immigrated to Canada in 1929. It was always his ambition to farm and in 1937 he and his two brothers began farming in Stockton and later farmed in the Headingley area. In 1949, he married Evelyn Lord and began to farm in Dufresne, where he spent the rest of his life. Besides his wife Evelyn, Gottlieb is survived by his sons, Billy (Colleen), Gary (Kathryn) and David (Dawn) and seven grandchildren, Rene, Dwayne, Melissa, Matthew, Jonathan, Brenda and Quinn; also five brothers and sisters, Freda of Winnipeg, Elise, Peter, Erwin and Wally of Starbuck; two sisters-in-law, Louise and Alice, as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by one sister Emma and five brothers, Emil, Fritz, Siegfried, Otto and Arnold. The family wish to express a sincere thank you for the compassionate care given by the doctors and nurses at the Ste. Anne Hospital. In lieu of flowers, if friends so wish, memorial donations may be made to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, P.O. Box 21008, 33-3900 Grant Ave., Winnipeg, R3R 3R2, or to a charity of choice. Funeral service will be conducted by Pastor Ron Vert on Saturday, March 11 at 2:00 p.m. from the Trinity Lutheran Church, Starbuck with viewing at the church from 1:30 to 2:00 p.m. Burial at Starbuck Cemetery.
