PETER FUTROS, JR. March 30, 1924 - March 6, 2000 It is with deep sorrow the family announce the passing of our dear husband, father and grandfather. Peter is survived by his loving wife of 47 years marriage, Josephine; daughters, Patricia and Debbie (David) Nickie; son David; grandchildren, Jeffrey and Kelly Nickie, Lynnette, David and Bonnie Futros. Peter was predeceased by his parents, Peter and Anna; brother Michal; father and mother-in-law, Joseph and Justina Zubek; and brother-in-law Victor J. Zubek. Dad was born in Nemecky, Slovakia, and immigrated to Canada in 1935 with his family. They settled in the Dugald area where they started the farm. Peter worked at numerous jobs before starting his own business, Farm-Rite Plumbing and Heating, while attending full time to his land. He retired in 1980 from the plumbing business, which was passed on to his son David. He continued his love of farming until 1992. Peter loved his family very much and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. Funeral service will be held on Friday, March 10 at 10:00 a.m. in Green Acres Funeral Chapel, Hwy. No. 1 East at Navin Road. Interment will follow in Green Acres Memorial Gardens. The family wish to thank Dr. E. J. Pilat and Dr. Pat Harris, as well as the doctors and staff of the Concordia Hospital for their excellent compassionate care.
