WILFRED ORMISTON WADGE After a brief illness, Wilf passed away in White Rock, B.C. on March 6, 2000 with his family at his side. Wilf was predeceased by his wife Ruth Elizabeth Wadge; brothers, Edgar and Thomas and sister Grace. He will be missed by son John and wife Connie; son Bill and wife Christine and daughter Alison and husband Harold; grandchildren, Jennifer, Erin, Pamela, Soizie, Erika and Wyatt; brother Ralph and his nieces and nephews. Wilf was born in Raglan, Ont. on April 13, 1910, the son of John Wadge and Etta Ormiston Wadge. When Wilf was still a young boy the family moved to the Roland, Man. area where the family farmed for many years. When Wilf was a young man he moved to Winnipeg, where he attended Teacher College and received the Governor Generals Medal for the highest academic standing in his class. After a brief stint teaching he articled with Millar McDonald and in 1941 qualified as a Chartered Accountant. Wilf went on to a long career with Revenue Canada, where his accomplishments included establishing a taxation office in the Okanogan Valley. He was also an avid golfer and curler. Wilf loved his wife Ruth dearly, and was a devoted family man who enjoyed helping to raise first his own children, and then his grandchildren. Wilf will be remembered for his quick wit, intelligence and integrity. Wilf will rest at Brookside Cemetery at Ruths side in accordance with his wishes. A memorial service will be held later this month.
