Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJAMES ARTHUR TIRUS WALL June 21, 1912 - March 8, 2000 It is with deep sorrow the family announces the passing of our husband, father and grandfather. His wife of 50 years, Eva; children, Richard (Joan) and Norma; granddaughters, Tara, Brenna, Danielle, Lindsay and Roxanne and grandson Chris lovingly remember him. He was the last of a large family of fifteen brothers and sisters. Dad was born in Essex County, Ont. and moved to the Dryden area as a child. In the early years of his life he worked with a team of horses hauling wood and helping to build the Trans Canada Highway through North Western Ontario. He served in the Second World War overseas from 1942 to 1945 returning home to the Dryden area. He began working at the Dryden Pulp and Paper mill and retired after 30 years as Operating Engineer. He married mom, Eva Johnson on April 19, 1949 and they resided in the home that dad built in Dryden until 1995 where upon they moved to Winnipeg to be closer to their grandchildren. Dads happiest times were spent with his family and friends. He enjoyed helping people whether it was building a new home, snowblowing driveways or rototilling a garden. He adored having his grandchildren at his side, often making pancake breakfasts for them. As well dad enjoyed spending time at the cottage fishing and hunting. The family wishes to extend their sincere thanks to Doctor Grace and the staff at Concordia Hospital. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held in Dryden. In lieu of flowers, and if friends so desire, donations may be made to a charity of their choice.
