MARION BETTY LEGGE At St. Boniface Hospital, after a brief illness, March 8, 2000. Born in Winnipeg March 28, 1926. Predeceased by her husband Stephen Legge in 1981; parents, Betty and Reginald Aston; and sister Joan (Fred) Swaine. Survived by her son Derek and daughter-in-law Kay; brother Jack and sister-in-law Hilda Aston; nieces and nephew; Nancy Swaine, Ron (Glynis) Swaine of Winnipeg, Tanis, Jody, Lisa, Darcy of Ontario; and her caring partner for the past 13 years, Anthony Kuysten. She took pride in her career as an executive secretary at Richardsons and with the Department of Education. She entertained her family with many humourous stories of her working days. She had a love for anything British, enjoyed history and biographies. She was an avid reader, enjoyed old movies, had a talent for sketching and writing witty poetry. Marion felt that the greatest accomplishment of her life was her son Derek and she was very proud of the man he became. For the last 13 years she shared her life with Anthony Kuysten and his love and caring made these years amongst her happiest. Marion held a sincere compassion for animals and doted on her sons (late) dog Stephanie as her only grandchild, carrying a grandmas brag book of photos of Steffie. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Marions memory to the Winnipeg Humane Society, 5 Kent St., Winnipeg, MB R2L 1X3. A memorial service will be held Thursday, March 16 at 1:00 p.m. at St. Bedes Anglican Church, 99 Turner Ave. NEIL BARDAL INC. 949-2200
