SAM KUZYK With great sadness the family announces the peaceful passing of Sam Kuzyk. On Wednesday, March 8, 2000 after a courageous battle with cancer. Sam leaves to mourn his wife Nettie of 49 years; his daughter Arlene Driver; his son Darwyn; grandchildren, Courtney Driver and Dylan Kuzyk. Sam also leaves his sister Mary Marcyniuk; many nieces, nephews, family and friends; brothers-in-law, Walter Slepetz and Ron Stevenson. Sam was predeceased by his mother Pearl and father Steven; sisters, Ann Kolisnyk, Nellie Slepetz, Jean Sanderson, Jessie Stevenson and brothers, Pete, Andrew, John, Nick and Bill. He was also predeceased by his loving young daughter-in-law Maggie in 1996. Sam was born in Pine River, Man. on April 4, 1921. He was owner and operator of Unicity Taxi Cab 201. During this time he made many friends, who joined him as avid wrestling fans. Often they were seen with him in the front row at the Winnipeg Arena watching his favourite sport. As a member of the Hartford Legion, Sam spent Saturday afternoons enjoying the company with his fellow Legion members. Sam was also a very active member at Luther Seniors Club. With his wife Nettie they made it their home. They also enjoyed living with all the friendly residents, which has an extended large family atmosphere. Thank you all for your kind support, help, prayers, concerns and visits. We would also like to send our thanks to Rick, Wayne and Staff at the Main Street I.G.A. for making Sams almost daily visits so enjoyable. Be it shopping or just to say hello. At Sams request a Memorial Service will be held at Knysh Funeral Chapel, 1020 Main St. on Wednesday, March 15 at 10:00 a.m., with Rev. Deacon Walter Knysh officiating.
