Born: Jun 24, 1932
Date of Passing: Mar 10, 2000
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryWALTRAUD AGNES KELLER Sadly on March 10, 2000 Waltraud Agnes Keller lost her courageous battle with cancer at the age of 67. She passed away at home, surrounded by the family she loved. Waltraud (Wally) was predeceased by her sons, Mario and Peter and by her sister Eve. Left to cherish her memory are her husband Herbert; her sons, Marco and Oliver; his wife Robin as well as her brother-in-law Klaus Lewald and sister-in-law Elizabeth Rolke along with their extended families. She also left behind her two babies, Tiger and Simba, which will miss her very much. Waltraud Agnes Guenzel was born June 24, 1932 in Berlin Germany. After surviving the Second World War, she met and married Herbert Keller. They packed their bags and headed off to Canada in 1954. Waltraud worked many jobs over the years until she found work at Penningtons and worked there for many years until her retirement in the 80s. She was an extremely tough woman. After surviving the war, she came to Canada only to lose her first sons to cancer. In her later years, diabetes took hold and she lost her first kidney to cancer in 1983. None of this fazed her, and she marched on bravely and proudly to the very end. She always did the best she could to provide for her family. Her husband and her family were everything to her. She was a very proud and protective mother who always wanted the best for her boys, Oliver and Marco. She was extremely proud of her boys and took every opportunity to brag about them to anyone who would listen. After the passing of her sister Eve in 1993, she became a bit of a surrogate mother to Eves daughters, Pamela and Corina. She loved them as if they were her own and treated their children as her own grandchildren. All will sorely miss her. God looked around His garden, And found an empty space. He then looked down upon the earth And saw your tired face. He put his arms around you, And lifted you to rest, Gods garden must be beautiful He takes only the best. He knew that you were suffering, He knew that you were in pain, He knew the road was getting rough And the hills were hard to climb. So He closed your weary eyelids And whispered, Peace be thine It broke our hearts to lose you, Bud you did not go alone, For part of us went with you The day God called you home. Wed like to thank the Doctors and Nurses of Grace Hospital for making her last months as comfortable as possible, and for letting her spend her final days at home. Special thanks to the wonderful VON nurses with whose home visits we couldnt have made it without. We would also like to thank Dave and Corina Sellner and Judy Rolke for all their help and encouragement during moms final days, it helped us a lot. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in her memory to one of her three favourite charities: The Canadian Cancer Society, Canadian Diabetes Society or the Humane Society. A service followed by a reception will be held at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. at Luxton Avenue on Monday, March 13 at 11:00 a.m. Cropo Funeral Chapel in care of arrangements 586-8044.
