Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryEVELYN MARIAN NEWTON Evelyn Marian Newton passed peace-fully from this life into the closer presence of God on Friday, March 10, 2000 at Oakview Place Personal Care Home. Evelyn is survived by her brother Frank; sister-in-law Ida; nephews Ross and Jim and nieces Joanne, Janice and families. She was predeceased by her parents Harry and Mary Jane Newton, brother Harold Newton and sister-in-law Lorna. Evelyn was born in 1912 in Drayton, Ont., and moved to Neelin, Man. where she was raised and received her early education. Evelyn loved children and spent her career as a teacher, primarily in the Seven Oaks School Division. She served as a Guide Leader for many years while residing in the West Kildonan community. Evelyn was a gifted seamstress and used her skill in many creative ways. She was a faithful member of the Anglican Church and worshipped at St. Annes and later at St. Stephens. Evelyn was a gentle, caring and loving sister, aunt and friend, whose memory will serve as a source of quiet strength and comfort to all who knew her. Evelyns family wishes to thank the staff of Oakview Place who cared for her with compassion and friendship. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of choice. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, March 14 at Neil Bardal Inc., 984 Portage Ave., Aubrey Street entrance, with the Rev. Donna Mahussier officiating. NEIL BARDAL INC. 949-2200
