DOMINIKA (DORA) OLIYNEK Peacefully after a short illness on Saturday, March 11, 2000 at the Hunter Memorial Hospital, Teulon, Dominika (Dora) Oliynek, age 87 years of Komarno, MB. Born August 10, 1912 at Canora, SK. She married Rev. Hryhory Oliynek on June 16, 1935 at Canora and had resided at Komarno since 1945. Dora leaves to cherish her memory her children, Victoria (Gordon) Catton and Rev. Harry; her grandchildren, Guy (Sian) and Gordon Jr.; two great-grandchildren, Bryn and Rhian; sisters, Alice Tkachuk, Mary Basnicki and Elizabeth (Michael) Arent; numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her husband Rev. Hryhory in 1974; Arthur in 1984; brothers, George and Bill and sister Ann. Dora was a gentle, loving, hard working lady who always gave her whole hearted support to her late husband in his pastoral duties, to her family, the church and to the community she lived in. For many years she helped her son Arthur operate the grocery store and Post Office in Komarno. The family wishes to express sincere thanks to the home care ladies who took such good care of Dora. Prayers will be sung at 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 15 at Holy Trinity Ukrainian Catholic Church, Komarno. Most Rev. Stefan Soroka Auxiliary Bishop of Winnipeg will officiate. Divine Liturgy will be celebrated on Thursday, March 16 at 10:00 a.m. in Holy Trinity Ukrainian Catholic Church, Komarno. Most Rev. Michael Bzdel C.Ss.R. Metropolitan-Archbishop of Winnipeg will officiate. Rev. Harry, Rev. Deacon Peter Chorney and Clergy will assist at the services. Interment will follow in Sacred Heart Ukrainian Catholic Cemetery, Arborg, MB. May our Lord in whom she always placed her trust; grant her the reward of eternal happiness.
