Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryDONALD (DON) MORRISON After a lengthy illness, Don passed away peacefully, at the age of 71 on March 10, 2000 in the Riverview Health Centre. He was predeceased by his parents, May Elizabeth and Donald John Morrison; his brother Robert Wilson Morrison and his sister Joan Morrison. Don is survived by his brother George Wilson Morrison and numerous nephews, nieces and cousins. Don will be greatly missed by all who knew him, especially his brother George; nephews, Bob, Murray and his wife Leslie, Mike Morrison and his wife Heather, great-niece Melody, great-nephew Joey, niece Susan Morrison and her husband Ray Maurice, and niece Joanne Morrison; childhood pal Don "Bud" McLaughlin and his family. Don was born in Winnipeg June 14, 1928. Don had a few careers in his life but ultimately retired from the City of Winnipeg Transit as Special Projects Officer. Don had many interests in his life. In his younger years he was a Civil Defense Co-ordinator during the flooding in the 50s, an early celebrant of "Life at Lake of the Woods" and throughout his life was a member of the Assiniboine Masonic Lodge, A.F. & A.M. Anyone who knew "Uncle Don" knows of his great love for his cabin and friends at Lake of the Woods. After his retirement Don was able to enjoy many summers at "Morrison Muskie Manor". Don was never more pleased than when introducing newcomers to "The Lake" or welcoming back old friends. We wish to thank Dr. S. Young, the Oncology staff at St. Boniface Hospital, Melody and Ken from home care, the V.O.N. staff and especially all the staff at the Riverview Health Centre for the kindness and compassion given to "Uncle Don". Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, March 16 at 10:00 a.m. in Thomson Funeral Chapels, 669 Broadway. Interment will follow in Elmwood Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Susan Morrison, Mike Morrison, Bob Morrison, Roy Maurice, Don McLaughlin and George Dodds. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Dons name to the Trans-Canada Trail (Lake of the Woods Region), 43 Westminister Avenue North, Montreal West, Quebec, H4X 1Y8.
