Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryNORA HUNT Nora Hunt, age 91 years, passed away peacefully on March 11, 2000 at the Morden District General Hospital with her family by her side. She is survived by two daughters, Lin and Nan Christie, Winnipeg, one son and his wife Bob and Ann Hunt, Darlingford; three grandchildren, Lee Christie, Winnipeg, Monica Hunt, Winnipeg, and Gareth Hunt, Morden; in-laws, Myrtal Christie, Portage la Prairie, and Peter Hersack, Brandon, and many nieces, nephews and friends. She was predeceased by her first husband, Howard Christie in 1946, her second husband, Les Hunt in 1993; and her four brothers and sisters. Nora was born in Guildford, Surrey, England on January 22, 1909 to Annie (deceased 1963) and Alfred (deceased 1911) Gibbons. Her family immigrated to Canada in 1919 and settled in Darlingford in 1921 when her mother married William Shields. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 16 at Zion-Calvin United Church, Darlingford. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Manitoba, 10-120 Donald St., Winnipeg R3C 4G2. Many thanks are extended to Drs. Duff, Holmes and R. Menzies, Wayne Forster along with other members of the nursing staff for their compassionate care and to home care supervisors and staff for their friendship and assistance.
