BASIL "BABS" PAUL LARAMEE It is with great sorrow we announce the passing of Basil Laramee. Basil found peace with the Lord on March 12, 2000 at his home. He will be sadly missed by his wife Mary of 50 years; son Donald; daughter Carol (Bob) Ripley; grandchildren, Jason Laramee, Allan Scott, David and Laura Ripley; mother Marguerite Laramee; sisters, Adrienne (Don) Nerbas, Mary (Art) Evans, Yvonne (Vic) Fredette; many nieces, nephews, family and friends. He was predeceased by his son Ron (1983), his father Joseph (1988), and brother Hubert (1998). Basil became a plumber/pipefitter joining local 254 November, 1954. He worked at numerous sites throughout Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Alberta, British Columbia, Ontario, New Brunswick, and the United States. He was an active member of St. Gerard Parish and Knights of Columbus. Funeral service will take place Friday, March 17 at 1:00 p.m. in St. Gerard Parish, 45 Foster St. Rite of Committal to follow in Assumption Cemetery, 3990 Portage Ave. We would like to thank Dr. Dirks, Dr. Regher, the nurses at Concordia Hospital 3rd floor and the V.O.N.s for their home care.
