Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJOHN EVERS TUNNEY Peacefully on Monday, March 13, 2000, John Evers Tunney passed away. Gabrielle, his loving wife of 63 years, will dearly miss John. He will be greatly missed by his five children, Ethel Willson (Dennis), Audrey Landygo (Bill), Brian Tunney (Dorothy), Eileen Bagshaw (Gordon) and Lynn MacIsaac (Dennis). John was the grandfather of 16 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. Also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and friends. John was born in West Melton, Yorkshire, England on March 11, 1912, and came to Canada in 1930. Dad married Gabrielle Rajotte on January 14, 1937. He served his country in the Second World War as a Radio Operator, in the Royal Canadian Navy. He served overseas for six years before returning to his wife and family in Winnipeg. His family and friends will fondly remember Dad for his quick wit and great stories. Dad spent his last few months in the care of the wonderful staff at the Deaf Centre Manitoba Personal Care Home. The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks and gratitude to Paula Thomas and all the loving, compassionate staff for their kindness, care and support they gave - not only to our father but also to his wife and family. Dad we love you dearly and we will miss you greatly. May the road rise up to meet you. May the sun be always at your back. May the sun shine warm upon your face. The rain fall soft upon your fields. And, until we meet again, May God hold you in the hollow of his hand. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Johns memory to the Deaf Centre Manitoba Personal Care Home, 3rd Floor Unit, 285 Pembina Hwy., Winnipeg, MB R3L 2E1. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held on Friday, March 17 at 10:00 a.m. in Green Acres Funeral Chapel, Hwy. No. 1 East at Navin Road. GREEN ACRES FUNERAL CHAPEL 222-3241
