JOHN HORECZY On Monday, March 13, 2000, after a brief illness John Valentine Horeczy passed away at Concordia Hospital at the age of 73 years. John is survived by his loving wife Evelyn of 51 years; his son Reg and daughter-in-law Linda Gosselin; grandchildren David, (Katie), Dusty (Steve) great-grand-children, Karli, Kyle, Cristal and Helen; his daughter Renee and son-in-law John Lamarche; granddaughters, Stephanie and Stacey; his sisters, Stella Novakowski and Frances Gravelines; and numerous nieces and nephews. John was predeceased by his parents, William and Mary; his brothers, Joseph and Carl; his sisters, Jean, Nellie, Katie and Helen. John was born February 14, 1927 and grew up in the Tyndall area. He cherished and loved his family. He was very devoted to his wife, playing cards, and enjoying themselves at their summer home at Dorothy Lake. John had a special relationship with his grandchildren whom he loved very much. His sense of humour, the twinkle in his eye, and his special saying this here thing will be missed. We would like to thank the staff at Concordia Hospital I.C.U. Your kindness and caring were greatly appreciated during this difficult time. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, 301-352 Donald St., Winnipeg, MB R3C 2H8. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, March 16 at 1:00 p.m. at St Gerard Roman Catholic Church, 45 Foster St., with Rev. Fr. Pierre Wood officiating.
