Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryAURELE JOSEPH PHILIPPE ROSS With family members by his side, dad left us peacefully on March 14, 2000 for his final journey Home. He suffered terribly the last 13 months with shingles. Leukemia, a stroke, and finally pneumonia exhausted his will to fight! Although our hearts are aching to have had to say a final good-bye, it is in thanksgiving that our Lord has finally given dad repose. Dad was predeceased by his first daughter, Claudette (1948) parents, Thuribe (1968), Lea (1974) brothers, Edmond (1995), Yvon (1986), Roland (1994) sisters, Irene (1970), Georgiana (1989), Florence (1989), Rachel (1991). Aurele was born June 2, 1917 in Winnipeg. He married the love of his life, Therese Cournoyer, in St. Anne, MB on July 4, 1945. While raising his family, he built an auto-repair garage. He was the pioneer for the school buses in the Seine River School Division as well as being one of the bus drivers. He raised 6,000 broiler chickens quarterly. A ten year term was spent as councillor for the Tache Municipality. During that time frame, he was on the sports centre committee and was one of the people responsible for the construction of the current Lorette arena. He became an active member of the Chevaliers de Colombe in 1947. Family gatherings were the most important thing to dad. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 55 years, Therese, and their children; Denis (Angele) and their children; Daniel, Gerard, Philippe (Suzanne), Nicole (Curt), Carole (Ryan) Claudette (Art) and their children; Joanne (Jamie), Michelle (Dave), Denise (Vic), Marie (Rene), Raymond, Alfred, Jeanne (Adrien) Gilbert (Mae) and their children; Stephanie (Brad), Richard (Donna), Catherine (Brian) Claude; Gisele (Trent). Dad was gifted with three great-grandchildren; Ashley, Alexander, Brett. Also to mourn dads passing is his brother, Valence (Marie Reine) sisters, Eva, Juliette (Marcel), Estelle (Rene). Prayers will take place at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, March 18 followed by a Mass of the Resurrection at the Notre Dame de Lorette Roman Catholic Church in Lorette, MB with Father Maurice Jeanneau presiding. Aurele will be laid to rest in the Lorette cemetery immediately following the service. Deepest gratitude to the staff at St. Boniface General Hospital and to Dr. Francois who so tenderly cared for dad and compassionately aided our family during this sorrowful time. Heartfelt thanks to the many friends and relatives for their love, support and understanding. LECLAIRE BROTHERS in care of arrangements, 775-2220.
