MIKE HARASYM On Saturday March 11, 2000, our brother, uncle and great-uncle passed away peacefully at his home in Beausejour after a courageous battle with cancer. Mike will be sadly missed by his sisters, Pauline Lashek and Doris Skalicky and many nieces, nephews and friends. He was predeceased by his parents Waselyna and Paul; his brothers, Steve Harasym, Andrew and Peter Homeniuk, John and Nick Harasym; his sisters, Anne Nejedly, Mary Struss, Ann Novalkowski, Kay Nejedly and Tennie Nesplic. Mike was born in Winnipeg on August 6, 1928, and farmed most of his life in the Green Oak District. He was a quiet and humble man who never placed any demands on anyone. Even in his time of need during his illness, he did not ask for much from anyone. Mike was not interested in the material things in life. What he cherished most was his family and he enjoyed spending time with his sisters and brothers. He especially enjoyed watching his nieces and nephews growing up. He was a special companion and provided support to his sister Pauline and her children. He was a wonderful godfather to his niece Carolyn and she will forever remember his thoughtfulness and presence at every important occasion in her life. In accordance with Mikes wishes, cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 18, at 2:00 p.m., at St. Pauls United Church, 730 James Ave., in Beausejour. The family wishes to thank the health nurses and home care staff for the care and compassion. In lieu of flowers donations in memory of Mike may be made to a charity of ones choice.
