CAROLINE DUMAS 1915 - 2000 Peacefully on Monday March 13, 2000, Caroline Dumas passed away at the Beausejour Hospital at Beausejour, Man. at the age of 85. She will be sadly missed by her sisters, Marie Davis of Winnipeg, Man., Anne Plohman of Beausejour, Man., Lillian Cariere of Lac Du Bonnet, Man.; grandchildren, Donna (Steve) of La Salle, Ont., JoAnne of Calgary, Alta., Debbie (Brian) of Toronto, Ont., and Douglas (Lee) of Strathroy, Ont. Also six great grandchildren and many nephews and nieces. Caroline was born in Fisher Branch, Man. on January 1, 1915 to Jacob and Eve Werstiuk. She married her loving husband Charlie on May 5, 1932. In 1942 she moved to Toronto working in munitions plants during the war while her husband was in the service. After the war ended, Carol took a nursing course and worked in the Branson Hospital until her retirement. Then she moved to Beausejour in 1992. She will be remembered as a loving, caring person. She was predeceased by her husband Charlie; sons, Joseph, Richard, Roy and daughter June; also her parents; brothers, Mickey, John, Harry and sister Berka. According to her wishes, cremation has taken place and a memorial service will take place on Saturday, March 18, at 11:00 a.m., at Sobering Funeral Chapel with Pastor Michael Cone officiating. Burial of cremains will be in Toronto, Ont. at a future date. The family would like to thank the staff of East Gate Lodge in Beausejour for their loving care. Also thank you to Dr. Zeiler and staff at the Beausejour Hospital. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba 301-352 Donald St. Winnipeg, Manitoba R3B 2H8.
