JOHN SEATON VERNON HIGH After a lengthy battle with heart disease, John High passed away on Saturday, March 11, 2000 at the Health Sciences Centre at the age of 71 years. John will be lovingly remembered by his children, Don (Donna), Jim (Joanne), Doris (Garry), Linda (Al) and Vivian (Jim), many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He will be deeply missed by his family. John is also survived by his brothers, Robert of Calgary and David of Australia; sister Virginia of South Carolina, as well as many nieces and nephews. Dad loved his trains and was extremely skilled at building and painting his models. His art for detailing was well known and respected by fellow modelers. As per Johns wishes, a private family gathering will take place and he will be laid to rest with his wife in Brookside Cemetery at a later date. Our family would like to thank the doctors and staff at the Grace Hospital and at the Health Sciences Centre for their care and compassion and especially to Juanne and Dr. Green at Health Sciences Centre for their special attention given to our Dad. As an expression of sympathy, donations in Johns memory may be made to the Manitoba Heart and Stroke Foundation, 301 - 352 Donald St., Winnipeg, MB, R3B 2H8.
