JACOB VOGT With great sadness, the family announces the peaceful passing of Jacob Vogt on March 17, 2000. Jacob is survived by his loving wife of 42 years Frieda; his daughter Elizabeth; son-in-law Peter Hirschfeld; his son Frank; daughter-in-law Wanda; his daughter Ingrid; son-in-law James White and his beloved grandsons, Kyle Hirschfeld, Michael and Mark Vogt, Paul and Ben White also his brother John and sister-in-law Mary, with family. Jake was born October 18, 1931 in Einlage, Ukraine. His family fled persecution in 1943. They lived in a number of locations in Germany until immigrating to Canada in 1949. Jake began working at Monarch Industries in 1951. He worked there 40 years until suffering a massive stroke in 1991. Jake was a faithful member of the North Kildonan Mennonite Church. Jake was a true handyman. He enjoyed working in his yard which was the envy of his neighbours. Jake was a loving husband, father and grandfather. His favourite times were spent in the company of his loving family. Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, March 21 at 10:00 a.m. at North Kildonan Mennonite Church, 1131 Roch at Cheriton. Viewing prior to the service. Interment to follow in Glen Eden Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Concordia Hospital Foundation Inc., 1095 Concordia Ave., Winnipeg MB R2K 3S8. Arrangements entrusted to Klassen Funeral Chapel, 338-0331.
