GELDA MARIAN LOWTHER It is with great sorrow that the family announces the passing of Gelda Lowther on March 14, 2000 at the Victoria Hospital. Mom was born in Banstead, Surrey, England on April 6, 1920. She was predeceased by her husband Daun Carlos Lowther. Gelda is survived by her daughter Marian (Tom) Mair; grandchildren, Barbara of Toronto, Douglas of Winnipeg; great-granddaughter Tina and brother Gordon in England. Prior to retirement Gelda was the executive director of the Middlechurch Home of Winnipeg. Mom took great pride in knitting for the family and creating beautiful needlepoint pictures. She loved to travel the world especially cruising. The family would like to thank all of moms friends for their kindness and support. A special thanks to Ellen Bordass and Marjorie Squibb for their support and for sharing our long beside vigil. Many thanks to the Victoria Hospital doctors and staff in Emergency and on the third floor for their compassion and care. A memorial service will be held on Friday, March 24 at 2:00 p.m. at Neil Bardal Inc., 984 Portage Avenue, entrance on Aubrey Street, with Pastor Arno Fast officiating.
