JAN (JOHN) J. SHINER December 1, 1920 - March 12, 2000 It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Jan (John) J. Shiner on Sunday, March 12, 2000 at the Grace General Hospital. Remaining to forever cherish Johns memory are his wife Phyllis of 51 years of marriage; two daughters, Susan Castagna (Sam) and Pauline Dyck (John) and by his three grandchildren. John was born in Poland, lived in England where he met and married Phyllis in 1948. In 1967 he immigrated to Canada with his family. He enjoyed gardening, woodcrafting, fixing things and his casino outings with the seniors. In compliance with Johns wishes, no public service will be held. Our family would like to thank the staff at the Grace Hospital I.C.U. for their kindness and support at this difficult time. As an expression of sympathy, if friends so desire, memorial donations may be made in Johns memory to the Manitoba Heart & Stroke Foundation, 301-352 Donald St., Winnipeg, MB R3B 2H8.
