Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryLYN VAUGHAN LYON Loving husband of Janet Lyon (nee Sheldon), passed away quietly on March 16, 2000 at Oakview Place Care Home in Winnipeg at age 85. He was predeceased by his parents, Roland and Elizabeth Lyon; brother Al Lyon, sister Norah Holmberg and husband Rudy; brothers-in-law, Robert Sheldon and Harold Benson; sister-in-law Helen Poetschke. Left to mourn his passing are his loving wife Janet; daughters, Irene Lyon (Murray) of Winnipeg, Doris Lyon-Murphy (Des) of Calgary; brother John Lyon (Terry) of Spruce Grove, AB; sisters-in-law, Mary Lyon and Libby Sheldon of Edmonton and Eleanor Benson of Lethbridge; as well as numerous nieces, great-nieces, nephews, great-nephews and many dear friends across the country. Lyn was born in Edmonton and spent 42 years working for Canada Safeway, primarily as an advertising manager. He belonged to the Kinsmen Club while in Edmonton. In Winnipeg, he enjoyed golfing at the Southwood Golf Club, curling at the Osborne and Granite Clubs and spending time with his family. On retirement, he and Janet moved to the Okanagan and spent 17 happy years there. Cremation has already taken place. A service celebrating Lyns Life will be held at Knysh Funeral Chapel, 1020 Main St., on Saturday, March 25 at 11:00 a.m. KNYSH FUNERAL CHAPEL 582-0973
